Retired We are beyond blessed to have had three time VA Randy vom Leithawald join our family and breeding program here at West Coast German Shepherds in late 2014. Imported from Holland, Randy was bred by one of the top kennels in Austria, Leithawald. Sired by Austrian Sieger VA1 Yoker vom Leithawald, a son of two-time World Sieger VA1 Vegas du Haut Mansard. Randy's mother is V Ubi vom Leithawald, a top producing daughter of the great sire V6 (BSZS) Idol vom Holtkämper Hof and a granddaughter of VA1 Bax von der Luisenstraße. Having had over 40 breedings in Europe, Randy is a proven producer of great dogs with superb temperaments, excellent structure and dark pigment, as well as beauty and working ability. He carries with him an outstanding show record in the adult Working Class, having earned the Excellent Select rating of VA three times in Holland and Austria combined. He earned the rating of Excellent V at the prestigious German Sieger Show with a top placing of V40 of 170 dogs that competed in the total class/protection phase. He also had a very impressive show career as a young dog, with many SG1 placements and an SG2 placing at the Austrian Sieger Show along with the excellent placing of SG31 of 114 dogs that showed in the class. He showed promise as a young puppy placing VV2 in the Austrian Sieger Show and many other top placings in the puppy classes. Please check out his entire show record in the table below. Accomplished both in the show ring and on the training field (6 times SchH 3, IPO3), Zamp had everything we were looking for in a stud dog for our breeding program. ​ Zamp produced beautiful puppies with excellent temperaments, very good structure, exceptional rich red color and good drives. Owners of his puppies have been extremely pleased with both their temperaments and good looks, and many tell us how they get stopped on the street when walking their Zamp puppies. Sired by V Kai vom Bierstadter Hof IGP3, who is a son of the VA1 Willy vom Kuckucksland IPO3, Willy is a six time VA, four times a German BSZS VA, and two-time VA1 at the BSZS German World Sieger Show. Willy is one of the top producers in Germany with hundreds of winning offspring, including multiple offspring being VA winners themselves. Kai's mother is sired by German VA Paul vom Bierstadter Hof SchH3 and is out of BSZS V21 Atlanta vom Bierstadter Hof SchH3. Nitro's mother V Kaira Best of the Gods ZVV1 is a granddaughter of top German producer and two time VA1 German World Sieger, two time VA1 Austrian Sieger ,VA1 Saabat von Aurelius IPO3. ​ Nitro was imported as a puppy by a breeder friend that recently passed away in late 2021, we adopted a few of her dogs and proceeded to complete their health testing so they could be added to our breeding program since they were such nice examples of the breed in temperament, structure and pedigree. Nitro's temperament and correct structure and strong, beautiful head are just what we look for in our breeding males that we add and use in our program. Nitro is also so much fun to have around, he is loving all of the attention and space and new "lady" friends and he especially loves his Orbee Tuff Sol Ball, his world is better with his ball in it! I would like to thank his previous owner's husband for this opportunity and to our late friend for choosing such an exceptional puppy to import from his breeder in Europe. DM Clear N/N MDR1: Clear N/N Color: Dominant Black Presenting a very unique addition to our program here at West Coast German Shepherds. We imported Messi along with her sister Meleina as puppies from their breeder overseas a little over three years ago. They are not only special in their solid black color being that they are of German showline blood, but with many VA dogs in their unique pedigree such as 2 time VA1 Vegas du Haut Mansard, VA2 Quenn vom Loher Weg, both of those VA dogs have been a part of our program before through Vegas' grandson our VA Randy vom Leithawald and Quenn's son our V1 Zamp von der Urbecke. And of course let me explain this rare dominant black color, so when bred to any typical black/red males they will produce solid black, black/red puppies. They both carry a gene inherited from their father and the generations behind him called "the dominant black gene consists of three different alleles, or variants. The first allele, which is dominant, is notated as "KB," or dominant black. The dominant black allele is actually a mutation that reduces or eliminates the expression of the agouti gene (A locus). To learn more about the agouti gene and the dominant black gene please visit www.animalgenetics.us . Because this mutation is dominant, a dog only needs to have one copy of the mutation to affect the agouti locus. If a dog is KB/KB or KB/n that means that they will be solid black in color. Both sisters exhibit excellent temperaments, they are great companions to our family and excellent guardians too. They both have excellent structure and movement. We are so excited for their future with us here, and can't wait to snuggle their little black puppies!
